Senior Sterile Processing Technician at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Senior Sterile Processing Technician oversees decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies within a hospital's Central Services department. This role requires certification and experience in sterile processing and involves managing materials for surgical procedures. The position is based on-site at Providence Swedish Issaquah and supports patient-focused healthcare delivery.

Description

The Senior Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for all task-based Central Services activities. Central Services activities include, but are not limited to: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, assembly and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and receiving and distribution of Central Services supplies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training and Completion of formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged Course test
  • Upon hire:
  • National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association --or--
  • National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • 3 years of related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing/ Central Services environment

Preferred Qualification:

  • Materials management and/or supply chain experience
