Job Description

Overview Generator Technician - Level II at Worldwide Power Products, LLC. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel and natural gas generators and engines ranging from 20 kW up to 500 kW. This role identifies, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and provides quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures. What You’ll Do Perform basic preventative maintenance and assist others in performing intermediate and advanced corrective maintenance tasks. Use basic knowledge of engine/generator mechanical and electrical operation to perform tasks or assist others. Replace batteries, belts, and hoses; change and/or top off oil and filters. Properly and completely fill out all service reports, PM checklists, and timecards within department guidelines; ensure legibility and sufficient detail for service accounting needs. Work on a flexible schedule and respond to emergency calls as needed. Obtain pre-assigned work orders by schedule date, customer name, service level, and locate/load parts; travel to job site, perform scope of work, and provide detailed computerized template report and timecard upon completion. Evaluate, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot basic and intermediate problems on gas or diesel engines and generators; provide recommendations for repairs and document procedures within standard repair times. Perform load bank testing with understanding of Reactive/Resistive testing. Install block heaters and battery chargers when required. Assist with Level I Technician training and supervision. Safety Complete tasks in a neat, orderly, and safe manner; promote safety of others and continuous improvement. Report unsafe conditions or acts to Management. Wear proper PPE when necessary. Additional Responsibilities Provide and use personal tools necessary to complete job requirements (tools listed in the Essential Tools section). Attend training sessions as required. Perform all other duties as assigned.
