Job Description

Amergis Educational Staffing is currently seeking aTransport Nurse (RN or LPN) for a school-based assignment in New Bedford, MA,with transport to East Providence, RI.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Duration: Full 2025-2026 School Year

  • Schedule:

  • AM Shift: 6:30 AM - ~9:30 AM

  • PM Shift: 12:30 PM - ~2:45 PM

  • Pickup Location: New Bedford

  • Destination: East Providence (AM) / Student's Home (PM)

Student Info:

  • 11th grade male

  • Requires 1:1 nursing support during transport only

  • Medical needs include monitoring for swelling and potential emergency injection for throat swelling (rare occurrence)

Requirements:

  • RN or LPN licensed in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island

  • Experience with emergency protocols and injection administration preferred

Pay Rate:

  • RN: Up to $52/hour

  • LPN: Up to $43/hour

The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promoting the health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronic conditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis' philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred

  • School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract

  • One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
