Job Description
1. Plan and direct the activities of the Youth Department (now called Arrow Youth) with a goal of discipleship.
a. Weekly meetings
b. Periodic recreational activities
c. Mission trips, etc.
2. Promote Oregon Ministry Network Youth functions as much as possible and devise ways for youth to be involved, such as summer camps, winter camps, state youth conventions, fine arts festival.
3. Appoint or elect a Youth Council to work with you for counsel and assistance.
4. Plan and direct a couple of Parent of Teens (POT) meetings during the year.
5. Be responsible for all materials and equipment of the department.
6. Direct an effective visitation and outreach programs for the department.
7. Seek to work together in planning and promoting activities with the Sunday School and other youth discipleship programs within the church.
8. Meet with the lead pastor and other department directors at the regular scheduled times for the purpose of prayer, encouragement and coordinating calendars and ministry.
9. Supervise and oversee all budget expenditures and revenue making projects. Clear all revenue making projects with the pastor before starting and before promoting.
10. Coordinate all dates for planned events with the church master calendar.
11. Try to plan six months in advance. Sometimes that is not reasonable, but the point is - less spur of the moment things and more planned things.
12. Communicate with Pastor about problems, issues, progress and activities.
13. At times, do what you can to include whole families. Make youth and their families a part of Life in Christ Church so when they get older they have a tie in to us as a whole instead of just one little segment called Arrow Youth and as soon as they age out, they don’t really know where they fit in.
14. Be available to preach occasionally to the adult morning worship service, or evening service that may be provided.
15. Be available and a willing servant to others on staff, as you are able. WE ARE A TEAM!
16. Be a student of the Word and prayer. Keep up your devotional life.
17. Never quit growing in your relationship to your wife. Love her as Christ loved the Church.
18. Be honest with everyone, especially those over you in the Lord.
19. Take a regular day off a week.
20. Take your vacation times.
21. Be an example of servant leadership to those around you.
22. Be flexible in regard to ministry duties and responsibilities.
23. Use your giftings and talents for the Lord where they may fit. (worship team, computer skills, etc.)
