Seasonal Resident Wildlife Keeper assists with the care of the resident wildlife animals at the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center at Willowbrook Forest Preserve.

What You'll Do

• Provide daily care for resident wildlife, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and monitoring health.
• Monitor animal behavior and assist with enclosure maintenance, including replacement of furniture and perches and providing enrichment.
• Assist with behavioral training of resident wildlife.
• Assist with guided tours as needed.
• Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits that supports a clean, organized and hazard-free camp environment.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support a positive, team-oriented workplace.

What You'll Need

• 16 years of age or older at time of hire.
• 1 year of previous experience in animal care or handling preferred.
• Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire.
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior.
• Basic knowledge of animal training and care practices.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Schedule & Pay

• Schedule will be 4-to-10-hour days; one weekend day and three weekdays per week
• Expected start date is from May 2026 through October 2026
• $16.00 to $17.00 per hour

Work Setting

• Based at DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center at Willowbrook Forest Preserve
• Requires working indoors and outdoors. Exposure to all weather conditions, wildlife including insects, birds, reptiles, and small mammals.
