Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available at an early childhood school located in Springfield, VT. This contract position, starting as soon as possible with the potential for renewal, focuses on providing dedicated support for high school students with special needs. The role offers a unique blend of in-school education and community-based job coaching.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to approximately five high school students with individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate closely with 1:1 paraprofessionals assigned to each student to ensure personalized attention.
• Lead the first half of the day in classroom settings, implementing tailored educational plans.
• Facilitate community integration by assisting students during job placements in various local businesses and organizations during the latter half of the day.
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation in accordance with program requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience in special education, ideally working with high school-aged students.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessional staff and families.
• Strong commitment to fostering independence and community involvement among students.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
