Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled M365 Support Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will drive the evolution and optimization of FMGs M365 environment along with providing advanced technical support to end-users across the organization, ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems, hardware, and software. You will also mentor junior support staff, lead technical projects, and serve as a key escalation point for complex issues.

Essential Skills and Functions
  • Provide Tier 3 support for all Microsoft 365 services, resolving complex technical issues escalated from lower-tier support teams.
  • Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Manage identity and access through Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access Policies, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Support and enforce data loss prevention (DLP), compliance, and security configurations within the M365 suite.
  • Work closely with the cybersecurity team to monitor and respond to security alerts and vulnerabilities within M365.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell scripting and M365 Graph API where applicable.
  • Collaborate with project teams on M365-related migrations, upgrades, and implementations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Act as a mentor to junior support engineers and provide training and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure alignment and support across infrastructure and security initiatives.
  • Actively manage small scale projects
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree and 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 in a mid-to-large enterprise environment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform components, particularly Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune.
  • Strong experience with PowerShell scripting for administration and automation.
  • Expertise in identity and access management with Azure Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, DLP, and M365 compliance center.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with hybrid Exchange environments and Azure AD Connect.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, eDiscovery, and Microsoft Information Protection.
  • Experience supporting M365 integrations with third-party tools.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk; use hands to handle materials or equipment; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, areas of the work environment may not be climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
