\nPool lifeguards ensure the safety of our guests at Hershey Lodge while providing courteous, friendly, and professional assistance.

\nJob Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
\nOverseeing and enforcing swimming pool and attraction rules and safety regulations.*
\nAnticipating, recognizing, and responding to aquatic emergencies.*
\nMonitoring equipment and supplies.*
\nMaintaining work area and surrounding environment.*
\nLifeguards must maintain lifeguard and first aid skills at "test ready" level at all times.*
\nParticipate in weekly lifeguard in-service training.*
\nPerform other job related duties as assigned
\nQualifications:
\nMust be at least 16 years of age or older on the date of applying.
\nApplicants must attend and complete the Ellis & Assoc. International Pool and Lifeguard Training Program provided and paid for by the Hershey Entertainment and Resorts properties.
\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
\nAbility to handle stressful working conditions, emergencies, and to accept a high degree of accountability.
\nMust be able to swim 100 yards using front crawl or breaststroke without resting.
\nMust be able to feet first surface dive and retrieve a 10 lb. brick from a minimum depth of 8 ft. (or deepest depth of the facility) and bring it to the surface.
\nMust be able to tread water without using arms for 1 minute.
\nMust be able to safely exit pool without use of stairs, ladders, or zero depth.
\nMust be in good physical condition.
\nMust have normal vision. (20/25 or 20/25 corrected)
\nPrior lifeguarding experience a plus, but not required.
\nMust be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other employees and be able to interact with our guests.
\nMust be able to speak, write, and understand English.
\nMust display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.
\nMust have the ability to safeguard confidential information.
\nJob Demands:
\nMust be able to work flexible hours including days, weekends, and holidays
\nHours are from 7:00am-11:00pm
\nMust be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week.
\nMust be able to work in a combination of indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
\nPhysical requirements include standing, bending, sitting, walking, and communicating.
\nAdditional physical requirements include complete mobility and good physical conditioning, good hearing and vision, and ability to tolerate heat and sunlight.
\nMust be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 75 lbs
