Pay Range: $15 - $21/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Template creation: Manually create templates in the production system for each form/variation so extraction can succeed.
- Creating bounding boxes and mapping to fields is part of the template creation process (explicitly mentioned).
- Document redaction / PII detection: Detect / redact PII information from documents before sharing with other teams.
- Spot-checking / QA comparisons: Perform manual comparisons between extracted data and source documents (spot checking) to support analysis and performance validation.
- Production monitoring: Look into incoming production traffic and address requests that failed to extract data by creating templates.
- Minimum template creation expectation: 50 templates per day
- Example given: W-2 is simple and can be processed quickly - illustrating how volume target is feasible with the tools.

- Production system / extraction application (generic): references to the production extraction system and the applications used to create templates
Key Requirements and Technology Experience: - Skills-["XML", "JSON", "TAX FORMS", "DATA ENTRY"].
- Tax document familiarity is helpful (working knowledge of tax forms is preferred).
- Past experience in template creation or labeling activities (ML side) with a QA background is preferred.
- Technical skills: Ability to understand JSON and XML is stated as mandatory ("these two things are mandatory").
- Hiring / owning team: The team supporting the work is located in Bangalore, India ( India Product Development Center).
- Hiring scope: Hiring for the tax season occurs in the US (they hire in US for tax support every year) and workers will need to be US-based due to compliance - "7216" restrictions.
- Preferred candidate source: Workers who have previously worked on the same team are preferred (they save time and retraining).
- Contact / coordination: Daily stand-ups and Slack were explicitly mentioned for coordination; one interaction (daily stand-up) is expected.
- Remote: Role is fully remote.
- Timezone preference: Pacific (US) preferred for common time overlap and the daily stand-up.
- Daily interaction expectation: Daily stand-up in Pacific time is expected; otherwise work hours can be flexible.
- US-based requirement: Workers are expected to be located in the US while working because of stated restrictions.
