Job Description

Vision Point Systems, Inc. is recruiting for a Data Engineer to build and maintain a data and ML infrastructure that supports analytical and modeling work (CAD models, image data, sensor data, etc.), so data scientists and ML engineers can focus on model design and product features. Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Design and maintain data pipelines for:
• CAD and mesh metadata
• Corrosion image datasets
• Lab/sensor time-series data
• Build and operate ML training and deployment pipelines:
• Reproducible training jobs
• Model packaging and deployment to cloud or on-prem environments
• Model versioning and registries
• Implement monitoring for data and models:
• Data quality checks
• Model performance tracking
• Logging and metrics for production workflows
• Collaborate with data scientists/ML engineers:
• Productionize prototypes
• Optimize data flows and storage for performance and costs
• Use best practices in reproducibility and documentation

• Programming skills (Python, SQL)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI/ML, or related degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD US Security Clearance. Requires US Citizenship.
• Must demonstrate high levels of written and verbal communication skills. 
• Must be able to influence and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be able to think outside the box and identify solutions in a fast paced R&D environment.
• Must be able to work independently and with a team.
• 0-1+ years of applicable experience.

Desired Skills

• Experience with AI/ML is desired.
• Experience with corrosion research.
• Experience with Cloud platforms and architecture. 
• Experience working with CAD metadata and unstructured data.
