AI Engineer (Automotive Software)

Full-time | Hybrid

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

We are a technology leader driving the transformation to AI-enabled software-defined vehicles . Our platform is essential for accelerating the shift from traditional automotive software to systems that evolve rapidly, update seamlessly, and improve continuously. We are seeking an AI Engineer to join our team, working at the cutting edge of in-vehicle intelligence and large-scale data processing.

As an AI Engineer, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end development, optimization, and deployment of machine learning and deep learning models that enhance vehicle systems. You will work with complex algorithms and vast datasets to create smarter, safer, and more intuitive vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize deep learning architectures and machine learning models for high-performance automotive applications, utilizing frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch .
• Transition AI models from research to production by building robust, scalable MLOps pipelines and infrastructure.
• Work with real-time, large-scale vehicle data , including telemetry and sensor data, to train and validate models for perception, prediction, and in-car user experiences.
• Optimize models for resource-constrained environments using tools like OnNX and TF Lite to ensure efficient deployment across vehicles.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including software and hardware engineers) to integrate AI solutions into vehicle systems already deployed in over 5 million vehicles.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of AI models to ensure the safety, reliability, and continuous improvement of deployed systems.
• Contribute to the development of AI infrastructure and tools that support the continuous training and monitoring of production models.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in productionizing AI/ML models, specifically in high-performance or resource-constrained environments, and a passion for the automotive industry.

• Proven experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models in a professional or production environment.
• Deep expertise in machine learning and deep learning frameworks ( TensorFlow, PyTorch ).
• Strong programming proficiency in Python .
• Practical experience with MLOps practices, model optimization, and deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with inference formats for resource-constrained edge devices (e.g., OnNX, TF Lite ) is highly desirable.
• A background in processing and analyzing large-scale, complex datasets, ideally time-series or sensor data.
